Xylan® coatings is a dry film lubricant and is a fluoropolymer coating designed for use on various types of OEM components and fasteners, including Xylan coated bolts to prevent corrosion.  Most Xylan coatings contain PTFE or other types of lubricants and are applied in thin films. 

Xylan Coating provides:

  • lubrication and controlled friction
  • wear resistance
  • heat resistance
  • nonstick and release properties
  • can also protect from corrosion

Solving problems with Xylan

Xylan solves problems created when the ideal material for use in engineering construction has the wrong surface properties. Parts made from materials with the optimum strength, weight, and cost may corrode, seize or gall. Xylan coatings provide a working surface, tailored to the application. Additionally using xylan coatings allows for reduced breakout torques due to its anti-corrosion and low-friction properties.

Xylan Variations

Xylan 1424 Xylan 1424 is an environmentally-friendly, VOC compliant coating that reduces make-up and break-out torque by up to 70%. Similar to Xylan 1070, this waterborne, low friction coefficient lubricant has high resistance to abrasion and corrosion, and is ideal for caustic environments. Operating temperatures for continuous service ranges from -40°F (-40°C) to +360°F (+180°C) and can survive up to +450°F (+232°C) intermittently.
Xylan 1070 Xylan 1070 provides low friction coating with high corrosion resistance to oxidation and high temperatures. Similar to Xylan 1424, this PTFE coating is ideal for leak prevention for tanks, valves, vessels, etc. in harsh environments.
Xylan 1014 Xylan 1014 is a low friction lubricant, similar to Xylan 1010, but contains a higher percentage of bonding resin which allows it to provide a less porous, more abrasive-resistant, glossy finish.
Xylan 1010 Xylan 1010 is an abrasion-resistant lubricant, ideal for corrosive and high heat environments up to 550°F. Xylan 1010 is the most versatile & dependable industrial fluoropolymer coating in the world. Furthermore, this PTFE lubricant has a low friction coefficient and can be used on any wear surface.
Xylan 1052 Xylan 1052 provides strong bonding lubrication for low-speed wear applications. Furthermore, this dry-film lubricant is able to withstand extreme heat up to 550°F and high pressure environments.
Xylan 1425 Xylan 1425 provides dependable bonding lubrication for extreme heat (up to 400°F) and harsh chemical environments. This waterborne, dry-film lubricant is similar to Xylan 1052 and ideal for high pressure, low speed applications.
